It features an aggressive front fascia, the use of LED lights throughout, gorgeous aluminum-alloy wheels, and so much more. Don't be surprised if on-lookers decide to take more than one glance.
Performance
The Hybrid powertrain is a unique pairing of Hyundai's next-generation engine technology. A powerful and efficient 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder is mated to an electric motor. The electric motor adds an extra 59 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque to the mix. When both powertrains are working together, the Santa Fe provides 226 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The electric motor contributes from a standstill while the turbocharged engine does the rest. The Hybrid is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters to an advanced all-wheel-drive system.
The electric motor receives its energy from a 1.49kilowatt-hour battery. Unlike other manufacturers, the Santa Fe does not need to be plugged in, because it generates its own electric energy. The use of regenerative braking keeps the battery topped up while the engine may help in certain driving conditions. The fuel economy numbers are impressive; the Santa Fe posts an average fuel economy number of 7.4 L/100 km, which is excellent for a family-friendly SUV. The blend of both powertrains truly delivers some awe-inspiring power, performance, and efficiency numbers.
