The 2022 Hyundai Kona cabin has been transformed into one of the most aesthetically pleasing designs in the subcompact segment. Comfort, convenience, and quality are all prioritized. The Kona seats five passengers and possesses a cargo capacity of 19.2 cubic feet, with all seats in place. Behind the first row, a gigantic 45.8 cubic feet is possible. The seats are mostly cloth upholstery on most trim levels, but the top trim gets leather seating. The 41.5 and 34.6 inches of front and rear legroom, respectively, is spacious enough. Comfort is optimized with the leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, heated seats, and automatic internal temperature control system.

The newly tweaked wheel designs, updated exterior lighting elements, a broader grille, and the imitations of the front and rear skid plates are some of the exterior highlights for the 2022 Kona. Several exterior paint options are provided, including Blue Wave, Cactus Fern, Ultra black, and more. The Hyundai Kona rides on 16-inch alloy wheels upgradeable to 18-inch.

Engine, Transmission, & Performance

The 2022 Kona comes standard with a powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-litre engine pairs with the continuously variable transmission, providing the Kona with better fuel economy and performance. An optional 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine with an output of 195 lb-ft of torque and 195 horsepower is also available. The optional engine is tethered to a smooth seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Depending on the trim level chosen, the Kona can have either a front-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. This SUV is fuel-efficient with a combined consumption of 7.4L/100 km when using the standard engine.
