What Is The Smart Park Feature
You may remember the most memorable commercial of this year's Super Bowl introducing the Remote Smart Parking Assist, or as it's more commonly known now, "Smaht Pahk". But to further explain, what exactly is Hyundai's Smart Park Feature? This feature, thus far featured only in the 2020 Sonata, uses the electronic gear selector and steering to put the car in gear and perform course corrections as the vehicle moves. The parking sensors work to detect objects, both stationary and in motion, that might be in the car's path. Simply put, this system gives your Sonata the ability to park itself, whether you are inside it or not.
How To Use The Smart Park Feature
Hyundai Smart Park is 100% accessible from your Hyundai Smart Key or Digital Key. Begin by holding the "HOLD" button for a few seconds to start your Hyundai. From there, you can hold the forward or backward buttons to park into or out of a parking spot. This can either be done will you are inside or outside the vehicle.
When Can The Smart Park System Be Used?
Hyundai Canada advises to only use this system when there are cars to the left and right of the space you want to park the Sonata. It is important to keep a close eye on the car when the system is in use. Even if you're not physically behind the wheel, you are still in control.
